Bags to carry my stuff – all Arkel bags
- Arkel Handlebar bag for stuff I want to have with me within reach quickly. ie. camera, snacks, bear repellent, wallet, etc. Also stuff I want to take with me should I need to leave my bike unattended for a short period of time.
- Front pannier bags (Arkel T-28), for my clothes and some of my sleeping gear
- Rear pannier bags (Arkel GT-54), for the majority of my camping gear
- Arkel Trunk bag. These weren’t around when I was touring years ago, although my rear panniers back then were connected with a large bag which sat on the bike rack. I like the trunk bag, I always carry it when Sue and I cycle to a Redblacks game. It’s a great size for toting our jackets and wallets around the stadium, and I took it when Sue and I cycled Le Petit Train du Nord, it was a nice addition. For this trip I anticipate using the trunk bag for my CPAP gear, for my sleep apnea.
